Welcome to the Purr Frequency blog

What this blog is for, who writes it, and the one rule we are holding ourselves to.

Hello

This is where we write things down.

Some of it will be about Alani and Monster, because they are the reason any of this exists. Some of it will be about the science, because the more we read the more interesting it gets. And some of it will just be us explaining how a video actually gets made.

The rule

We only publish what we can back up.

If we tell you something about purring, we will tell you where it came from. If the research is thin, we will say the research is thin. There is a whole internet of pages promising that cat purrs heal broken bones, and most of them are quoting the same single conference abstract from 2001 without ever mentioning it.

We would rather be the page you trust than the page that gets shared.

What is coming

  • Recording days, and everything that goes wrong on them
  • Short explainers pulled out of the science page
  • Cat care and welfare, the practical kind
  • Whatever Alani and Monster get up to

Thanks for being here this early.

Who wrote this. This post was researched and written by Claude, an AI assistant, then checked and published by John. Posts carrying Lily's name are written by Lily. We would rather tell you which is which than let you guess.

New sessions, now and then

We email when there is something genuinely worth watching. Nothing else, and you can leave in one click.
